Race News.

Fast and furious race last night with an epic reaching and running course. There was a lot of one wheeling and spray going on, a big display of power from the Deeds and Lucifer powering of the start with reachers up, but plenty of other high speed action round the course. Bad luck for Creepy Crawler whose rudder found the rock lying of the marina, a low tide hazard to be removed, a broken prod on Rent, pushing it hard and some new jib sheets required on the Deeds. But great conditions and the fleet looked awesome flying out of Westhaven. Nice win on Line to Triple8, with Taeping and Charleston 2 and 3rd, and a fine handicap win to Borderline, Voom and Epsom Salts 2 and 3rd. Its all close for the series, as always and only two races to go.

Club Night Big thanks to Taeping, Deeds, Voom, Borderline, Hyper for agreeing to take out the Pt Chevalier youth programme tonight. Exodus also going so a really good response, and its looking like a perfect breeze to show off the boats, meeting at 5.15 XYZ, with drinks on the quay afterwards. Otherwise you will see some action if you come down to the club anyway. Start and finish will be provided from Clive’s power boat, thanks also to for their help.

Round Waiheke this Saturday, start of Maraetai at 1000, always a popular race and part of our big three summer series. Easy course , one way or the other round Waiheke, hard to get that wrong.

Te kouma race in two weeks, part of the Commodores Cup. Suggestion is we also hold an optional double, yes the first race to Te Kouma and back. Gets you back in town if you can not stay the night. Let us know if you would be interested in that. Otherwise of course if you want to stay there is a good weekend down there.

Ps don’t forget the epic singlehanded race scheduled for Sunday 17 April
