Feb/March Race News
Great fleet for the Round Waiheke race last Saturday and a nice looking day for it. Always great to have other boats out racing and this year we had Superbird To Cruz, Pulse XTC and Aweful again as part of the fleet, and be great to see more of you. First in was Triple 8 in a fast time, with Lucifer second and Dirty Deeds third. A handicap win for Voom, Lucifer second and PredictWind third. This race counts as part of the big four series, and its been a close series, with the winner to be announced at the prizegiving in May. Thanks to Pine Harbour Cruising Club for organising this popular annual event.
*This Saturday is the Commodores Cup race to Te Kouma. Starts off Northern leading. We are also running a return race for the first time , with rum at stake, so use the laid finish mark ( not the committee boat) as the rounding mark and sail back whichever way you like, with a finish line being the transit of Orakei Bouy and the northern most end of Orakei Wharf. Take your finish time and text to 021 487 417. Prizes to be awarded at the May prizegiving.
*March 12 is the RNZYS Cruising Series race. 1300 Start off Northern Leading, a good social event and last one in this series for the summer.
*BMW 18-20 March. Looks like we will again be a big part of the regatta, and lots of boats have said they are keen, so get your entries in and show the organisers we are up for it. Will aim for a big multi raft up at the beach party on the Saturday picnic, so have some big flags and fenders ready.
*Tauranga Race also coming up at Easter. Details now on their website, but also NOR attached.
*Welcome to Aaron, Stev and Chris, new owners of the very fine Attitude, great to have you out racing.
