Upcoming races

Listed below are the last races of the 2010/11 calendar and the first races in the 2011/12 calendar.

For those of you wishing to enter the Singlehanded race please get your entries to me by email or phone (steve@category1marine.co.nz or 021500571). This event is no extras and I hope to see a range of boats out there, not just the usual racers but a few of the cruise orientated boats too. An entry fee of $10.00. The notice of race is in the racing section here: Single Handed Details.

The Wednesday night series is fast approaching and you need to be aware that the Squadron is going to use an online entry system and will have series entry cut off times. The cut off times will be for all series and early entry is encouraged by a discount.

Late entry fee penalties are also being introduced to encourage early entry.
This year for Wednesday nights the 8.5 boats will start in the multihull division, but will run the N courses (same as A+B). The rest of the fleet will do M courses.
There is a NZMHYC series trophy for both N and M boats for Wednesday nights, so get your entries in.

The Coastal Classic site is up and running and ready for your entries. Coastal Classic Site

October also sees the first of the NZMHYC Summer Trophy races. The trophy can be won using a number of race combinations, this enables the smaller boats who are not suited to the Coastal Classic to qualify through different events. Check the website for the list here:

Summer Sailing Trophy List

The NZMHYC would like to encourage a number of the cruising boats back to club events, with this in mind I would encourage the participation in the RNZYS cruising series that is very family orientated. Katriana is a regular participant and Hyper will also be making a number of the races. The event has good prizes and some easy weekend destinations.
We will also be running a race to Mahurangi at Anniversary Weekend and a hoping a number of you will join in the Anniversary day race back to Auckland.

Another event the race committee is working on is a Multi raid, the calendar is rather full and we are trying to find a suitable time for this event which would be over 2 -3 days.

If you have any suggestions please feel free to email me.

I look forward to seeing you all out there.
