Boat: Dirty Deeds Team: Bob Fisher, Greer Houston, John Kensington Profile: Dirty Deeds exploded onto the 8.5 racing circuit back in 2006 and has been a hard boat to beat. She habitually sees off the bigger multi's in the open class. |

|
 | Boat: Borderline Team: Andrew Potter, Ben Costello, Phill Maxwell, Bex Hielkema
Profile: Just launched and proving herself to be a good performer at the front of the fleet. Borderline follows the maxim 'more is more' with a maxed out sail plan and righting moment to match.

| Boat. Putiki Express Team. John Minnee, Andrew Schultz, Paul Sabiston Profile. Although smaller than the rest, makes up for it in ruthless determination. Don't expect her to be fighting for line, she does most of her damage in the cut and thrust at the back portion of the fleet. |
 | Boat: Hooters Team: Mark Jackson and Chris Holland Profile: A highly optimised and modified glass and carbon Great Barrier Express. Hooters has an extensive sail wardrobe with a specialist sail for every wind strength and direction -excells in a breeze especially. |
 | Boat: Lucifer Team: Laurie Jury Profile: The first launched of a triplet of similar 'Demon 8.5' design trimarans sailed by a world class crew. |
 | Boat: Rental Team: Josh Tucker and Ant Blyth Profile: Modified GBE. After many years in the making (rebuilding, fixing, breaking, fixing again, destroying then rebuilding), The rental team still has a lot to prove (and improve..) but is slowly getting there. A great party platform and can often be seen (and heard) blasting around the harbour on a nice day making a nuisance of themselves |
 | Boat: Voom Team: Ken Ormandy, Robbie McMillan Profile: One of the first modified GBEs. Excellent cruising set up but still manages to get around the course in reasonable time. One of the quicker GBE's, especially upwind in the light. |
 | Boat: Creepy Crawler Team: Ryan and friends Profile: |
