Started in 1972 as the Auckland Multihull Sailing Association, the NZMYC’s focus is on providing cruising, racing, and educational events for multi- and monohull sailors around the country.

Our fleet ranges in size from small trimarans to large cruising cats, and our members run the gamut of experience from first-time boat owners to sailing industry professionals. Advice, assistance, and ideas flow freely among our group, whether we are gathered physically or online.
Connect with us
We welcome all sailors to get involved with our community. Our home base is at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron on the Westhaven breakwater, where we host regular information nights and gatherings.

Online, you can find us on our Facebook page. Many of our members are active there, as well as in our Open 8.5 Class Multihull Fleet group and on the crew.org.nz Multihull forum.
Information for Skippers
Safety on the water is paramount regardless of if you’re out for a picnic or racing to Russell. The information in this section is provided for skippers wanting to increase their readiness for emergencies or get their boat cleared for the Coastal Classic.
Inspections
Boats entered in the Coastal Classic must hold a current Yachting New Zealand Category 3-minus safety inspection certificate. Information on how to arrange an inspection is available on the YNZ website.
